The Panamanian Folkloric Group of Hampton Roads is a non- profit organization integrated by Panamanian, American and other Hispanic residents of Hampton Roads area. It was founded in 1993 by Mrs. Aura Robinson, native of the province of Darien in Panamá with the purpose of sharing Panamanian folklore culture in Hampton Roads. Her love of the Panamanian culture and all that it has to of have lead her to the vessel through which many have shared in the Panamanian culture in spite of many storms.
The Panamanian Folklore Group of Hampton has participate in several inaugural Governors Parade in Williamsburg, the Virginia Beach Library Hispanic month Celebration, Special Celebrations and the annual Panamanian Folkloric Groups Showcase in Washington DC, Orlando, Florida, Brooklyn New York, and Queens New York, Texas alone with many other community events.
Thanks to love and passion of folklore of many of our group members the Panamanian Folklore Group of Hampton roads has gained prestige and recognition in our community while spreading and promoting the Panamanian culture through its folkloric, artistic and musical manifestations in the Hampton roads Community and other areas of the United States in our effort to educate and share culturally.
